The Work Place Charging Scheme for Lancashire Businesses

The UK Government established the Workplace Charge Scheme (WCS) in 2016, to kick start the idea of installing Electric Vehicle Charge Stations at the workplace. The policy was implemented by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV). The aim is to reduce the cost of the purchasing and installation of workplace charging stations.

So, who can apply and what can you get?

The grant has been made available to any business, charity, public authority and local accommodation business (i.e. hotels with some small conditions). Within this ever-changing world, whether your business requires EV Charge Stations for employees or installation as an option for guest and customers, there is help and support to suit your requirements.

The WCS will assist you to reduce starting costs for the purchase and installation of your workplace charge station. It also assists you to introduce the idea of Electric Vehicles to your staff, visitors and guests.

There are so many benefits with workplace charging beyond the WCS. You can monitor your company’s efforts to reduce your carbon emissions, create cleaner air and a greener focused work force. You can be at the forefront of influencing your local community.

So, what will you save?

The WCS reduces the cost by £350 to help towards the purchase and installation of any Electric Vehicle Charge Station. In addition, any business can be rewarded up to 40 single socketed charge points or 20 double socket charge stations. This has a potential saving to you of up to £14,000. This grant is estimated to cover an average of 75% of the total cost of the installation of UK EV Charge Points, inclusive of VAT.

The application process is provided by an online portal via the WCS website. On completion of the application the installer, in this case EV Charge Clever, receives a voucher to use on behalf of your business which will be deduced from the invoice of service.
